Early Orthodontic Treatment

We offer complimentary orthodontic evaluations to children of all ages. It is recommended that your child first sees an orthodontist at age 7.  At age 7, your child’s smile is at a pivotal stage of development. Early orthodontic treatment isn’t just about straightening teeth—it’s about setting the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles. By identifying and addressing potential issues early, we can ensure your child’s teeth and jaws grow in harmony, often preventing more complicated treatment later on. And if you’re child isn’t yet ready to start treatment, we will continue to monitor their development through complimentary screenings each year until they are ready to start treatment!

Top Reasons to Get an Orthodontic Evaluation by Age 7

1. Catch Problems Early

By age 7, your child’s smile is a mix of baby teeth and adult teeth—perfect for spotting issues like crowded teeth, jaw troubles, or bite quirks. Catching orthodontic issues early means we can handle them before they become bigger problems.

2. Guiding Jaw Growth

Early orthodontics helps guide your child’s jaw growth and makes room for those adult teeth to settle in perfectly. It can even improve facial balance and symmetry.

3. Reduces Need for Future Treatment

Getting a head start could eliminate the need for more invasive orthodontic treatment down the road. Early treatment may mean avoiding things like tooth extractions or jaw surgery, offering your child an easier solution!

4. Improving Function

Fixing bite and alignment issues early can help your child chew better and speak more clearly. It can also help prevent future wear and tear.

5. Build Happy Habits

Starting early helps kids build great oral health habits that last a lifetime. A healthy smile is a confident smile.
